Barr Lake Field Trip
permission slips and money due Monday, May 16, 2011.
* Please make sure to pack a disposable sack lunch, hat, sunglasses and a water bottle. (label all with your child's name)
* Apply Sunscreen and bug spray before sending your child to school. (Unfortunately teachers are not allowed to do this and we don't want your child getting sunburned)
* The students will be in smaller groups with a chaperone and a Barr Lake Naturalist. (Please send them in comfortable TENNIS SHOES)
* Each group will venture out on a 1 1/2 hour nature walk. (There are no paved trails so strollers are not recommended)
* There will be a bug sweep in the afternoon. The attire should be a t-shirt and long pants. (No shorts or tank tops allowed)
Due to the length of the nature walk and the naturalist's request for a calm and quiet environment we recommend that small children not participate in this field trip.

Bromley Bolt:
The annual "Bromley Bolt" Fun Run will be partnering with the City of Brighton Concert Series. The Bromley Bolt, held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 will consist of a 5K (3.1 mile) run/walk, followed by a concert and business expo.
* Pre-register by Friday, May 6th.

Free Dress Day and Pizza Party!!
Thanks for your help bringing in reams of paper. We reached our goal of 25 reams and now the students get a free dress day and pizza party!!

March 2ND PTO VALENTINE SKATE NIGHT
The March PTO Valentine Skate Night is Wednesday, March 2nd from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wagon Wheel Skate Center.
Come and enjoy a fun evening of skating. A king and queen will be selected by random drawing.
Admission for the event it $4.00, which includes roller skate rental. In-line skate rental is an additional $3.00.
The rink concession stand and arcade games will be open during our event.

Valentine's Day Party
Our Valentine's Day Party will be on Monday, Feb. 14th from 11:00-12:00pm. Please remember to send in your money and the slip for your choice of pizza if you wish to participate. We will also be decorating bags in the morning. The only thing that you need to send to school with your child is Valentine cards. I sent home a class list with the information about the Valentine's Day Party. Please let me know if you need another one.

BECS Library
Changes are being comtemplated for the 2011-2012 Student Handbook regarding the Uniform Policy. BECS would like parents' input before we form a committee to look at changes that may be made to the Uniform Policy. No matter how you feel about the uniforms, please feel free to come to the meeting and express your opinion on whether changes need to be made or if the uniform policies should remain the same for 2011-2012.
Parents, Faculty, Administration and Staff will have 5 minutes to express their opinion of the current uniform policy and to make recommendations about changes to the policy. Everyone will be required to sign in to speak at the meeting. All opinions on the uniform policy are appreciated.
